  • TaQuoia Hammick (They/Them)

TaQuoia (they/them)  is a non-binary, Black, and queer mental health therapist dedicated to creating affirming, accessible spaces for healing and growth. They are the founder of Liberated Roots Wellness, a mental health practice that centers the experiences of queer, trans, and BIPOC folx.

TaQuoia holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Their primary focus is working with children and families with a variety of different needs. In addition to individual therapy they offer group therapy options that allow parents to bring their young children to onsite child care with the hope of reducing barriers to services. Through this model, they aim to build community among families navigating complex identities and life transitions.

In addition to their clinical work, TaQuoia and their wife Sophia host a monthly group for Spanish-speaking parents and children to foster connection and support across language and culture. They are passionate about advocacy and deeply committed to uplifting the voices of those they serve.

Outside of their practice, TaQuoia enjoys biking, spending time with their wife, toddler, and pets, and catching up on sleep.

  • Andrea Overall Rick (She/Her/Ella)

Andrea Overall Rick is a queer Latina from a large Mexican American family in Tucson, Arizona. Andrea is a psychotherapist who works with the Latinx and Queer community and specializes in trauma. She has an extensive social work and therapy background.

She’s held supervisory roles at community-based behavioral health organizations, including Washburn Center for Children, Community-University Health Care Center (CUHCC), and Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio (CLUES). Andrea earned a Master in Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Human Development from Boston College.

As a gay parent and a therapist who specializes in working with both queer children and adults, she is deeply passionate about fostering safe and accepting spaces for all Queer families.

Andrea resides in South Minneapolis with her wife and two young children. She enjoys going on family bike rides, goofing off with her kids, walking her dog, and listening to podcasts.

  • Adrienne Gemheart (They/Them)

Adrienne is a non-binary queer parent with two adorable toddlers and a powerful, loving wife. They celebrate their Filipinx heritage (while wrestling with being a mixed-race, white passing person) and are excited to continue to share this joy with their children.  They have lived throughout California and are now settled in Minneapolis to cherish time with cousins  - a consistent north star in their life.

Many years ago, they worked in San Francisco as a job and housing counselor with people experiencing homelessness. For those that were able to move into permanent supportive housing, Adrienne saw the profound impact on people's lives. Inspired to contribute to creating more housing options, Adrienne pursued a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota. In their work today, Adrienne supports the development of affordable rental housing throughout California, their home state. We all deserve safe, affordable homes - full stop.

Coming together with LGBTQ+ families gives them hope for the future, and they feel deep fulfillment raising their children surrounded by a wonderful queer community. Adrienne is the family dreamer and planner - fueled by family adventures abroad or exploring the city by bike with their two littles. Keeping their fingers crossed that a brood of backyard chickens are in their future. Currently, they have two sweet cats that provide endless snuggles and entertainment.
